REMAP™ - Reed Eye Movement Acupressure Psychotherapy

What is it?

REMAP is an energy psychology technique that was developed by Steve Reed. This technique is a breakthrough in rapid psychological treatment and combines leading edge interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Thought Field Therapy, and Emotional Freedom Technique with self-administered acupressure. These techniques are well established and researched in the field of psychology. REMAP utilizes self-administered acupressure points, verbal support based upon cognitive distortions and irrational belief systems, along with eye movement techniques to quickly transform negative thoughts, emotions, and energy patterns within the mind/body system. Because REMAP can be extremely effective in the rapid elimination of emotional pain, REMAP can compress treatment length and produce quick results.

How Does it Work?

REMAP acts upon the energy systems of the body (human biofield). The client is taught by the therapist, who self-demonstrates where certain acupressure points are according to the dominant emotion of the memory or event. Clients are then guided in exploring the negative and/or irrational thoughts associated with these memories. Positive and/or rational thoughts created by the client are installed by release of emotional energy stored in the body and by guided eye movement. During this process clients can often determine where in the body they are "holding" their emotional trauma (mind/body connection) and can easily recognize the lessening of this sensation during the treatment process. The whole procedure is quite simple and can be done very quickly. REMAP is very effective with most clients, allowing them to experience immediate relief of emotional charge when accessing treated memories. It has been found to be extremely effective, especially with those clients experiencing phobias, anxiety, or fear based memories.
